Gini Holmes is a traditionally trained print maker (lithography) who has turned to more experimental means by which to create her images.

Born in Long Beach, CA, she received her BFA from Stanford University in lithography and painting. She received her Masters of Science in Visual Studies from Mass. Institute of Technology in experimental graphics.

As an artist in residence at MIT, she began working with colleague/artist Tom Norton, doing an extensive amount of research in Electrographic Printing using a variety of copiers. Her Mixed Media Electrographic Transfer Monoprints employed three types of copiers, including a XEROX Standard Haloid camera. Handmade papers and 3 dimensional surfaces were often incorporated into these large format prints.

In 1995, Ms. Holmes began digitally manipulating her images, producing giclee prints on handmade paper. She also returned to drawing, bringing her computer explorations back to realization through a very basic medium - crayon. Oftentimes, these drawings are re-interpreted as digital explorations printed on varied substrates such as fabrics, metals, gels and tiles.

Ms. Holmes has completed public art pieces for the city of Redding's Aquatic Center, Turtle Bay Boat Launch, Redding Civic Center and the Redding YMCA
